France: Will an AI name your company when a customer asks?

For companies in France: when a customer asks an AI for your service, it names only companies whose name, address and phone number it can read for sure. Check your website free: enter your address and see at once what an AI cannot read. In France, 18.2% of 5,884 websites checked pass this step, against an EU average of 13.1%. Companies that pass are listed below.

Five stages to an enquiry

An AI assistant has to find a website, understand it and be able to quote it. Only then does it enquire or book for its user. If your website misses a stage, it names another company in your place. Gold: France. Grey: EU average.

Where does your website stand?

The check works for any website, in any country. Enter your address and press “Measure now”. Within half a minute you see on screen whether AI assistants may open your site, whether they can read its text and whether they find your name, address and phone, plus what to change. The preview is free and needs no sign-up. The full PDF report is free until 30.11.2026, then €149 once, no subscription. It names every change with file, line and wording, so your webmaster can make it straight away.

By sector

Sectors with at least 300 measured websites in France. A dash means: for that stage the measured base in the sector is below 300 websites, so the figure is not reported.

These companies tell an AI who they are

10 companies in France meet both criteria. This comes from a second measurement: between 12 October 2026 and 18 October 2026 we read every website in our company records for France, not only the sample above. These companies state name, address and phone in a form an AI assistant reads for sure, and let in every AI assistant that answers customers. Only limited companies and cooperatives whose legal form is part of their name, with no more than three locations, are included.

No business relationship, no payment, no endorsement. A service of Metatron Marketing Ltd.

Method

The addresses come from OpenStreetMap and were drawn at random. Of 150,000 addresses worldwide, 116,940 were read; 7,557 of them are local business websites in France.

Schools, associations and public offices are not counted. Several websites of the same operator count as one.

We measured from 6 October 2026, 23:30 UTC, to 7 October 2026, 05:13 UTC, reading the public home page, robots.txt and llms.txt.

“Find”, “Understand: who” and “Understand: what” are based on 5,884 websites in France read after an extension of the run.

The EU average is the weighted average of the 19 EU countries with at least 300 measured websites (61,318 websites). Germany accounts for 40.5% of them.

The range after each figure is the 95% confidence interval of the random sample.

Limits

  • We do not report groups of fewer than 300 websites.
  • Blocking figures are minimums: we did not measure Google’s crawler.
  • We measured the home page, not every subpage.
  • The statistics state counts. The company list only shows who met both criteria on the day of measurement; it is not a rating.
